Plugs Directly into the USB Port Without the Use of a Reader
Lowers the expense and effort of deploying a JavaTM-based smart chip solution because the RSA USB Authenticator 6100 can perform the same functions as a smart card but includes it own on-board reader.
Includes Storage Space for Usernames and Passwords, Biometric Templates, Keys and Certificates, and RSA SecurID Software Token Seed Records
Organizations don’t need to change the native authentication method at the application. The RSA USB Authenticator 6100 becomes the mobile, secure platform that can carry the native authentication data required to access an application, whether that data is a digital certificate, username and password or an RSA SecurID seed record. Being able to carry that authentication data on one secure device simplifies end-users' experience and provides significantly higher security for any organization.
Supports Onboard Key Generation, Digital Signing and Message Decryption
Using digital certificates and keys for user authentication to a web server, a VPN gateway or a network can deliver a high level of security only if the private key is protected. By being able to generate, store and execute cryptographic functions on the RSA USB Authenticator 6100, organizations can be confident that end-user private keys are being stored and used in the most secure way possible.
The certificates and keys stored on the RSA USB Authenticator 6100 can also be used to digitally sign email or documents-e.g., Adobe® Acrobat® (PDF) files. The solution provides a very secure cornerstone for ensuring the integrity of documents or for upgrading a document flow process by replacing a physical signature on a document with a digital signature.
Based on JavaTM Technology and Supports Global Platform and ISO Standards
The RSA USB Authenticator 6100 runs a JavaTM operating system compliant with ISO 7816 and Global Platform standards on the smart chip. This provides two potential benefits. First, smart chips supporting these standards make interoperability between RSA USB Authenticator 6100 devices and software more likely. Second, they provide the opportunity of deploying new applets to the RSA USB Authenticator 6100 after it has been issued to end-users. |
