1997 was the year when P J NETWORKS commenced operations as 'Computer Maintenance Corporation'. P J NETWORKS took up the challenge to service all installations left by IBM , COMPAQ, and took over the maintenance of over 80 IBM installations spread across the city. Later it also maintained computers supplied by scores of other foreign manufacturers.

While maintenance activities progressed space, encouraged and enthused P J NETWORKS spread its wings and turned its attention to other areas of computer support. Computer centres were set up in different parts of cities and whole ranges of consultancy services were offered. Computer education and training programs were started. The R & D Centre at Vikas Puri undertook pioneering projects in the areas of contemporary technology. LAN & WAN in data communications and database management became one of the corporation's fastest growing activities.

A significant milestone was project in
Brisk Securities, a major United Nation funded project aimed at fostering self-reliance through design, development and systems engineering of real-time, on-line and image processing systems, dedicated to development-oriented applications.

In 2002, we stand in the new era of a new millennium; we can proudly look back to the significant milestones that we achieved in our five years of journey from being a trendsetter and pioneer to a leader in the field of information technology.

QUALITY INFRASTRUCTURE

P J NETWORKS' Total Quality Management Program was launched during early 1993.Since then, over 90 person-days of training have been provided to the staff members through TQM awareness ,ISO awareness, Kaizen and housekeeping workshops. These programs are repeated to train the new employees who join P J NETWORKS. Training of more than 90% of the P J NETWORKS is completed.
. During 1999-00, Quality Policy, VISION and MISSION Statements for the company have been formulated and formalized .Key Business Processes have been identified for improvement at the corporate level. A number of small group activities for quality improvement were also initiated at the regional and branch levels .Mission operationalization and planning of business have been aligned and strengthened.

 


QUALITY POLICY

P J NETWORKS is committed to creating value for customer by delivering the benefits of IT in the form of services and products.
P J NETWORKS subscribes to TQM philosophy and a Quality Management System in line with ISO 9002.
The strategy of P J NETWORKS to build quality for globalization is to:

  1. Evolve quality measures for all life-cycle phases of services and products to be able to satisfy the customers;
  2. Set up systems, procedures and standards to minimize errors, defects and rework, and continually improve levels of quality; and
  3. Make decisions based on quality considerations.


CERTIFICATION TO QUALITY STANDARDS  

  In pursuit of excellence, a Quality Management System has been developed in line with ISO 9002:1994 Standards and implemented at P J NETWORKS Center.
A team of 35
P J NETWORKS professionals with varied background and experience have been formally trained as Internal Quality Auditors at P J NETWORKS Center, Western Region (Mumbai) and Northern Region, (Delhi). They are involved in conduct of regular internal audits and improvement of Quality Management Systems. This process is further strengthened by conduct of Internal quality Audit workshops bringing in new internal auditors. P J NETWORKS Center at Gachibowli.


SPIN-OFF

The Quality Management System, which was initially paper based, has been converted to electronic form and administered over Local Area Network at P J NETWORKS center. In this process Lotus Notes, MS Project 98 and other packages have been productively deployed. Thus IT has turned out to be a Quality Enabler, minimizing the housekeeping and documentation chores. Conversely, Quality Improvement Methodology and Tools have enabled comprehensive . Systems Analysis and Design. This has led to new opportunities in enterprise-wide solutions and Work Management incorporating Quality and Process improvement systemically.


CORPORATE QUALITY THEME

Corporate Planning, Personnel and Communication Groups organize surveys and internal reviews to set improvement targets and plan development activities. This process has become more focused and customer-specific after the formation of the Strategic Business Units. As a result customer orientation has improved and business processes have been redefined covering internal structures, workflow, job descriptions, training, assessment, reward etc. Thus Quality Management has been integrated within the organization structure and administrated through the top management through P J NETWORKS professionals specifically trained in TQM, BPR and related programs.


QUALITY FRATERNITY

P J NETWORKS is a member of the Confederation Indian Industry and takes part in developing and propagating nation-wide TQM understanding and practice.
